CTV News reported that Ryan Imgrund, a former teacher in Ontario, is facing allegations of sexually, emotionally and psychologically abusing students. He is also accused of practising one-on-one with three of the student athletes. He coached a school team and gained a significant social media following during the pandemic.

The Ontario College of Teachers has opened an investigation into allegations Ryan Imgrund abused students between 2015 and 2021.

The Ontario College of Teachers is hearing allegations against Ryan Matthew Leslie Imgrund, who coached an athletic team at the York Catholic District School Board. Imgrund is accused of engaging in conduct unbecoming a member and sending inappropriate messages to students.

The College of Teachers accuses Imgrund of having “yelled at and/or scolded” one student, taken her on “long drives alone in his personal vehicle” and followed one on Instagram. He is also accused of having driven students in his car “at high rates of speed”.

The notice of hearing said Imgrund used a technique requiring students to push their buttocks up against him, sent them numerous messages, and asked for and received photographs from students. A disciplinary committee hearing has yet to be scheduled.
