Michael Hampden-Carter: Windsor-Essex high school advisor charged with sexual assault against minors

CBC News reported that Michael Hampden-Carter, an advisor of the Greater Essex County District School Board, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation against a minor.

Police say the charges originate from incidents involving two minors that allegedly took place in January. Police said Carter was employed by the Greater Essex County District School Board at the time as an advisor at the high school level. According to the Police, “Investigators launched an investigation after two people came forward and discovered that Carter was communicating in person and electronically, through a social media application, with both victims before the incidents.

Michael Hampden-Carter, 35, a year-old teacher, was arrested Saturday and is expected to appear in court on April 27, police said.

Police said Thursday that investigators are concerned there may be more victims.
