CBC News reported that Marcello De Almeida, An Ottawa judo coach, has been charged with two counts each of sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a young person, and sexual interference. Ottawa police say the charges originate from incidents involving a girl that allegedly took place between February and December 2020. The investigation began in 2020. The board has suspended Police Chief Terry McCaffrey, 44, with pay, effective Jan. 27.
